I just wanted you to know that Charlie and I learned a lot from you on our fishing trip May 4th. We had a great time learning your Kokanee, King Salmon and trout fishing techniques. Your Gold Country Sport Fishing is a great operation that I would recommend to anyone. Your knowledge of the area lakes is superb and your willingness to share your fishing knowledge with others is inspirational. I really like the recaps of your fishing days you do and it was flattering to see our photos up there. Western Outdoor news even used some of it in their recent Don Pedro report. Good job, and keep up the good fishing.
I also wanted you to know that I caught my first limit of Kokanee last week!! I used some of your techniques and they worked well at Melones. My next challenge is catching Kings with the rolled shad/anchovies technique that I will try this weekend at Don Pedro.
Once the stripers start hitting at New Hogan I think I will book another trip so you can show me the ropes there. Thanks again for the great day on the water!!

Another super day of fishing today, this time at Melones for early limits of quality Kokanee salmon. You put Larry and I on the fish early and with several doubles the action couldn’t have been better. Although we observed many other boats trolling in the area, we didn’t see any other fish being netted, but through your thorough understanding of what is required in the way of tackle, lures, scents and frankly how to catch these great fish, we had unparalleled action and fun galore.

Wow!!!….. that’s all I can say!!! Dude that was one hell of a day of Kokanee fishing!! I am hooked on Kokanee and your tactics! I tell you what ladies and gentlemen, if you want a highly professional guide who puts you on top of fish and hooked up quickly, Monte is your man! I’m predominantly a bass fisherman and I have never really took the time to learn more about downrigging and going after these wonderful fighting, and great tasting fish. Monte took the time to show my buddy and I the fundamentals, as well as the finer points of this type of fishing.
