Don Pedro fishing trip 5-14-11

Hi all, I had Doug Philpott and Ron Burks onboard with me today to learn some kokanee techniques. We were greeted with some very windy conditions that made it a COLD! morning, anyway and we got the rods set and we had a few bites from what we could tell as the wind was blowing pretty good making it difficult to fish and to detect bites, but after a couple of hours the wind finally started to lay down and the fish started to finally bite, it was not a fast bite by any means but we found some fish that wanted to play. It never really warmed up very much, but it still turned out pretty good, they ended up with two Rainbows and seven nice kokanee, and they lost a few as well. We even had one come off very close to the boat and we noticed that it was floating on its side trying to swim away, as I turned back to get him he was still trying to get away and we circled three times before Ron was able to scoop up Don Pedro kokanee fishing guidesDoug’s fish that he lost. Thanks again guys! Monte Smith Gold Country Sportfishing
